A thriving music culture doesn't happen by accident.
It exists because people show up. Because venues take risks. Because promoters put their necks on the line. Because artists create. Because audiences care.
No Local Scene Without Local Support is a community-powered initiative dedicated to strengthening grassroots music across East Devon.
This is bigger than one organisation. Bigger than one venue. Bigger than one event.
It's about recognising that:
- Venues need audiences
- Promoters need trust
- Artists need platforms
- Culture needs participation
When we support local, buying tickets, listening to community radio, sharing events, turning up, we build something that lasts.
We're building a sustainable music ecosystem in East Devon. One where culture is valued, supported, and protected.
But we can't do it without you.

The movement is growing.
The campaign is no longer just a message. It has its first partner.
Branscombe Brewery, one of Devon's most respected independent breweries, have renamed one of their award-winning ales in support of the cause. Local Scene Local Support will be pouring at venues across East Devon Soul Festival on 3–4 July, with a percentage of every pint sold going directly into SPL's infrastructure fund.
Two independent organisations, rooted in the same place, backing the same vision.
And this is just the start. We're working toward free and low-cost equipment access for artists and promoters, a safety net fund for venues willing to take a chance on new talent, and eventually a ticketing platform where booking fees feed back into the ecosystem, not out of it.

Branscombe Brewery
Established in 1992 in the heart of the Branscombe valley, Branscombe Brewery have been crafting award-winning ales in East Devon for over thirty years. When we told them what we were building, they didn't hesitate. This year they renamed one of their ales Local Scene Local Support, putting their name behind the campaign and their beer behind the cause. That's what partnership looks like.
